Our Team:

Daniel Cruz

Daniel Cruz joined us in July of 2017, and quickly became a crucial part of Serenity Knives, he is my right hand and I rely on him for just about everything.  He is the Jack of all Trades, making custom knives and knives for stock and manages the refurbishment side of the business. He has a very specific style of kitchen knives that he makes, you will notice them in the showroom. Daniel's newest challenge is designing the best pocket sized fixed blade knife as an Everyday Carry, (EDC).

Russell Montgomery

Russell Montgomery started Serenity Knives in January 2010. After having a passion for collecting and using knives for a majority of his life, he sought out Murray Carter. Over the next 2 years he spent several weeks learning the traditional Japanese way of blade smithing. After honing those skills he took several workshops with the American Blade Smithing Society and learned the Appalachian Mountain way of doing things. He now uses a balanced combination of these two very divergent techniques and way of design to build the best knives he can.  Russell is currently focused on getting Serenity Knives Mid-Tech Line of knives into the showroom and on the market.

Jake Brueckner

Jake was a Chef for 16 years, and has been with us on and off since 2018, and came on with us full time in November of 2023. Jake uses his understanding of food prep and protein break down to create amazing kitchen knives that are purpose built, and often have a look all their own. He makes carry knives based on absolutely nothing but guess work and his imagination, and just hopes they don't suck, and usually they are pretty good! (Only half joking). Jake is currently making all of our filet knives and good number of Chef's knives.

Stephen Precella

Stephen Precella joined us in November of 2012. Stephen's knife passions are hunting, tactical, and fantasy knives, and has made some of the most elegant kitchen knives we’ve done. He loves to push the boundaries with handle construction and leather carving and tooling.  He is always the first to try something new and innovative.
Stephen has stepped away from us for the time being to help raise their kids. He pops in now and again and helps with projects. We also are still finishing some of the knives he started.

Knives with this stamp have been exclusively made by Stephen.
