The first defining feature of this knife is its Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coated blade, which is precision machined from CPM® M4, a special purpose high speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. CPM M4's sophisticated alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades.

Equally unique, the lightweight handle of this knife is injection molded from mint-green-colored fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). The linerless handle features Spyderco's Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure, non-slip grip and four sets of threaded inserts to anchor its versatile four-position pocket clip. To complement the blade’s DLC coating, the clip and all other handle hardware also feature low-profile black coatings.
